JON DEMARTYN
Township Commissioner

Jon DeMartyn is a lifelong East Pennsboro Township resident, local business owner, and 1991 graduate of East Pennsboro High School. He worked for the township for 27 years, served as a youth soccer coach, and was vice president of Friends of East Pennsboro Parks, where he helped organize the Christmas Lights at the Park. Jon and his wife of 28 years raised two children—both proud East Pennsboro graduates.
He is an active member of the Historical Society of East Pennsboro, the East Pennsboro Alumni Association, and Perry Lodge #458 F&AM.
Jon believes, with his knowledge of township operations, he can be effective immediately in controlling/cutting costs and addressing/resolving residents’ concerns.
"The most important issue facing our municipality is the lack of trust between community members and our current leadership. An essential component of any highly functioning municipality is a supportive leadership that collaborates with those they represent. With our no new taxes promise, our team is committed to rebuilding trust by focusing on financial responsibility. Analyzing the efficiency of our codes department will allow the negative impacts affecting many residents to be addressed. The expanded department has reduced its ability to support community efforts. We will work to improve the Codes Department to the highest degree of efficiency. The most recent focus on a new township building only highlights the lack of fiscal responsibility that continues to push residents aside. Our no new taxes promise will end the discussion of a new building and focus on initiatives that support our community, like replacing playground equipment recently removed. We are committed to providing transparency, rebuilding trust, and being leaders that work for and not against valued residents to ensure that East Pennsboro Township adheres to its mission as a great place to live, work, and raise a family."
